Fabric care

Fine lingerie doesn’t demand much — just the right few habits. Five minutes of care adds years of wear, and everything below takes less effort than regretting a hot wash.

Lace

• Hand wash cold with a gentle, alcohol-free detergent. Ten minutes of soaking does more than an hour of agitation.
• Press water out between towels — never wring. Lay flat to dry, away from sun.
• Machine washing is survivable in a mesh bag on the gentle cycle, but hand washing is why lace looks new at year three.
• Never iron lace. If it creases, hang it in a steamy bathroom.

Satin

• Cold wash, by hand or in a mesh bag on gentle. Turn pieces inside out first.
• Hang to dry away from direct sunlight — satin holds its liquid drape best when it dries hanging.
• Iron only on the reverse side, cool setting, or steam instead.
• Keep satin away from rough surfaces, velcro, and jewelry — snags are the fabric’s only real enemy.

Embroidery (Édition & Blanche pieces)

• Hand wash only, minimal agitation — embroidery dislikes being rushed.
• Dry flat between towels. Never iron over embroidered panels.
• Store flat, ideally in the box the piece arrived in.

Bras, structurally speaking

• Rotate: a bra worn every other day outlives one worn daily, because elastane needs rest to recover.
• Store clasped and flat, cups nested side by side — never folded into each other.
• Start a new bra on the loosest hook; move inward as the band relaxes over months.

The golden rules

• Cold water, always. Heat is the shortcut to shapeless.
• No tumble drying. Ever. This is the whole religion.
• No fabric softener on anything with elastane or power mesh — it relaxes the fibers that hold you.
